My PC is giving me shit... my Mac is giving me shit... My PC would really like a new version (and by new I mean legit version) of Windows XP. My Mac on the other hand would just like any copy of Windows to work on it.
For the last two days I've been trying to get RO to work on my mac. First I tried CrossOver Games... but no, no good. Then I figured I'd torrent a copy of Boot Camp and install XP. But no, Boot Camp no longer works with 10.4...
So, I decide it's time I upgrade my Mac OS, so I go to BestBuy and buy Snow Leopard 10.6. And I get that installed and when I try to partition for XP, it basically tells me to go to hell and reformat my hard drive. So, first, I have to empty my external hard drive, which I do on my boyfriend's computer, then I have to format my external hard drive, then back up all of my files from my laptop. ok, done.
Then I go to format my laptop. Now, I've never had to do this so I have no idea how. It literally took me 5 hours to figure this out before I figured it out.
Now, I have my hard drive reformatted, and Snow Leopard reinstalled (for like the 4th time), and then a partition made for XP. Alright, finally moving on... I go to install XP and I get through a bunch of steps and about to install the first file and it says, FU! and quits.
What the F is all I have to say. I look online for solutions and don't really find anything. So I figure I'll torrent a different version of XP. While that is downloading, I restore my files back to my computer, and go get something to eat.
Hour and a half later, I have the headache of figuring out how to burn this iso image. First off, neither my PC or Mac recognize it as an iso. I am stumped. Downloaded this for nothing? I go through a couple CDs trying to burn this and finally just slap a .iso extension onto the file name and try that. And hey, it worked.
Yes, I am a computer noob, I have no idea what I'm doing half the time when it comes to stuff like this. I just poke it enough times until I get the desired result.
But anyway, as I type this, XP is finally installing to my Mac. (45%). I am really hoping this succeeds because I don't know what to do if it doesn't.
So yeah... This has been my headache that I've been dealing with for the last couple days. Why you may ask? Well, I have been spending more and more time at my bf's house and he offered that I could work on art there to get away from my parents. Only thing is, we play Ragnarok Online together and I can only do that on my PC. So really, I'm doing all this just so I can play RO on my mac. >_> It's a legitimate reason right? right? RIGHT? o-o
My Mac has now booted into Windows XP and is finishing the installation. This is exciting! ^^
Artwork and commissions have commenced and I should be able to show some progress soon.

================= Commission Info and Prices Below =================
(This will go in effect July 1st. Any previous Commission pricing will no longer be in effect. )
I was thinking about how to do my commission prices and wasn't entirely satisfied with my last method. So I'm going to use a chart that I developed to gauge what is a fair price. While I don't have the chart yet available to look at, I've put together a few "package" deals which are based on the chart. Also, by choosing a package, you'll save $5 since you won't have to consult with me as in depth as if you were to rely on the chart.
First, I'll go over a little bit about the chart.
The chart is based on Four categories: Character detail, Background detail, Drawing Size, and a Miscellaneous category which includes materials, shipping, and anything else that doesn't fit into one of the other categories. I've tried to base the dollar amount in the chart by the estimated number of hours I would likely spend on that section of the drawing, with a base of $10/hour.
Now I'll discuss what I mean by detail. I have broken down my chart into Five levels: Sketch, Low Detail, Mid range Detail, High Detail, and Exceptional Detail.
Sketch

A sketch will be done in pencil with minimal shading. The emphasis of the sketch is to show the general detail of the character but not go into detailed shading or blending.
Example

Low Detail

Low detail will be one of the following colorizations: Digital (soft-shade), Colored Pencil (Rough Fill), Water Color (Wash), or Marker (Quick Color). (Pen and Ink can also be chosen as the colorization method). The method of colorization is to show the basic color of the character or background, but not go into detail. A low detail drawing will include a pencil sketch, line art (optional), and one of the above coloring methods.
Example of Digital quick fill (Low detail will be a little more detailed than this, I just don't have an example to fit)

Mid range Detail

Mid range detail will be one or multiple forms of colorization as listed above, but now focusing on more detail of characters. An in depth work up of light and dark will also be present.
Examples (mixed media, digital)

High Detail

High detail will be one or multiple forms of colorization as listed previously, but now focusing heavily on detail, textures, and lighting.
Example

Exceptional Detail

Exceptional detail will also be one or multiple forms of colorization as listed previously. This detailing method will also focus heavily on detail, textures, and lighting, but will go even more in depth, utilizing "line-less" drawing, realism, and focus strongly on it's composition bringing in foreground and background elements. Characters will be in more dynamic posing.
No examples for this section yet...
Backgrounds will also follow a similar detailing method, but with an addition of Texture/Color fill.
Some examples

Onward to the "Packages". I've set up 6 separate ones which I feel would be the most popular. By choosing a pre-existing package you'll save $5.
